Dr. Abdul Momin Khalifa sahib served the Ahmadiya Jamaat Canada faithfully since his arrival in Canada in 1960. He became the first President of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat in 1963. Dr. Khalifa sahib settled in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia where he led the development of the first Ahmadiyya mosque, Bait-ul-Hafeez Mosque, in Sydney, Nova Scotia. He was the longest serving president of the Sydney Jamaat and a long serving president and founding member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Medical Association of Canada.

As a practicing physician, he supported many Ahmadi physicians before and upon their arrival to Canada in securing residency positions and navigating the medical system. In 1961, he worked with Saskatchewan premier Tommy Douglass in the launch of the first publicly funded medical insurance system in Canada. He was also active with Doctors without Borders and Humanity First in Haiti and Azad Kashmir. Dr. Khalifa sahib touched all those around him with his sense of adventure, big heart, and love for life. His commitment to and support of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat, his extended family, his community, and Canadian society were honourable.
