Obituary of Nur Elahi Malik
In Loving Memory of Respected Nur Elahi Malik Sahib (1934 - 2025)
With profound sadness we share the passing of respected Nur Elahi Malik Sahib of Vaughan Jama`at Halqa Kleinburg, on Jan 6th, 2025, at the age of 90.
Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji'un - Surely to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return [2:157]
Malik sahib belonged to a very devoted Ahmadi family. Ahmadiyyat came into the family through Hazrat Maulvi Muhammad Abdullah sahib of Bhaini, Dist Sheikhupura, a sahabi of Hadhrat Masih Maudas. By the grace of Allah, Malik sahib was a Musi whose every action was guided by the teachings of Islam and Ahmadiyyat, and a commitment to uplifting humanity. His life, marked by faith, service, and compassion, is an enduring inspiration to all.
Malik Sahib was a beacon of kindness and generosity. He embodied the spirit of service, selflessly assisting others in any circumstance, while his boundless affection extended to both his relatives and the wider community. His home was a sanctuary of hospitality, where guests were welcomed with open arms and warmth.
He maintained a deep love and profound respect for Khilafat, cherishing unforgettable memories with Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih III, IV, and V. Among his prized possessions was a piece of the turban cloth of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih II, which he enclosed in the complete turban of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IV—a cherished gift from Huzur.
A dedicated servant of the Jama'at, he served as Sadr Halqa Wahdat Colony in Lahore for nearly two decades and as Superintendent of the Ahmadiyya Hostel in Darul Hamd for over a decade. He played a pivotal role in the construction of Baitul Tauheed in Lahore and was appointed Qazi in Pakistan on two occasions. He was exceptionally punctual in observing the five daily prayers in the mosque and in the daily recitation of the Holy Qur'an aloud. His first act upon receiving his remunerations was paying his chanda. He also instilled a spirit of selflessness and service in his children and grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy by serving the Jama'at in various capacities with immense love for Khilafat.
Malik Sahib was a mentor who inspired others to pursue education, build better lives, and strive for success. His home was a welcoming space for everyone, reflecting his generosity and love.
He is deeply mourned and his loss leaves a void that can never be filled, but his legacy will live on in the prayers, actions, and memories of all he touched.
