It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of the cherished Shahida (Sara) Shah Sahiba of Oakville Jama’at, who departed on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the age of 78.

إِنَّا ِلِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ,

... Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return. [2:157]

Shahida (Biloo) was the devoted spouse of the late Qayyam, whom she adored for over five decades. She was a remarkable mother to her three beloved children, Fauzia, Alya, and Mahmood, and took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Aaron. To her siblings, she was a caring and supportive older sister, a dear and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Shahida possessed a brilliant intellect, earning her BSc in Microbiology and Chemistry. She thrived in stimulating, intellectual conversations, her gentle voice and dry wit captivating those around her. Her playful nature was complemented by her elegance, fortitude, and undeniable charisma. Shahida was admired for her resilience in the face of adversity, yet she could melt hearts with a single smile and the warmth of her expressive eyes.

Known for her selfless kindness, Shahida was loved and respected by all who knew her. She embodied charm, compassion, and courage in every aspect of her life. Her unwavering faith served as a guiding light, shaping her love and dedication to her family above all else. She longed to be reunited with her beloved husband, Qayyam, who passed in 2019, often expressing, "Together we were and together we will be." Amin.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional team at AgeCare Glen Oaks (formerly Waterford) for their professionalism, compassionate care, and unwavering kindness, which left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know Sara.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. Amin
