Obituary of Asifa Begum Chaudhary

We are sad to announce the demise of Respected Asifa Chaudhary Sahiba, wife of (Late) Respected Cmdr. Muhammad Aslam Chaudhary Sahib (Waqife Zindagi), of Vaughan Jamā‘at – Halqa Springside, who passed away on February 22, 2024 at the age of 89 years.

Respected Asifa Chaudhary Sahiba was a Mūṣiya, by the grace of Allah, and the daughter of Hadrat Raja Ali Mohammed Sahib (ra) of Jhelum who was a companion of the Promised Messiah (as) and served as Nāẓir Baitul Māl and as Amīr Jamā‘at of Gujrat. Respected Asifa Sahiba lived a life of piety, regularly offering her five daily prayers and recitation of the Holy Quran. She kept the fasts of Ramadan until the age of 87. She was a true servant of the Jamā‘at, serving in various capacities throughout her life in Pakistan and Canada including as Ṣadr Lajna Imāillāh of Defence, Pakistan and later on in Ahmadiyya Abode of Peace. Respected Asifa Sahiba was known for her hospitality, always welcoming friends, and family to her home with warmth and kindness. She kept the pain of the less fortunate in her heart and always remained ready to help anyone in need.

She was the sister of Respected Raja Ghalib Ahmed Sahib who had the blessing to serve as General Secretary and official spokesperson of the Jamā‘at in Lahore for a long period of time and the sister in law of Respected Shaheed Munir Ahmad Sheikh Sahib, former Amīr Jamā‘at of Lahore who was martyred in 2010.

May Allah grant Maghfirat to the deceased and elevate her spiritual status in the heaven! Amen!  May Allah also shower His mercy upon the grieved families and give them solace and fortitude and enable them to bear this loss with patience! Amen!
