Throughout the walk of life you meet many people. Some who are ships that pass in the night, some who make a lasting impact, but then there are those once in a lifetime people. The type of people who make you feel like you’re the most important person in the whole world. They celebrate your wins and support you in your defeat. They’re warm, loving, bright, and loved by all, from babies to our elders. They are angels walking among us in human form.
I was fortunate enough to my once in a lifetime person with me since the day I was born. You were always there, for every milestone, for every birthday, when we needed some advice, a shoulder to cry on, or simply a grandfather to spend time with. I never imagined a world without you in it.
But we have so many memories to cherish, ones that I am so grateful for. Whether it was Jummah prayers, running around Ontario Place, or figuring out how to spend the pocket money you gave us around Spadina, every adventure was so special. We couldn’t wait for the sleepovers at your house. Any and every opportunity you had to put a smile on our faces, you took it. You played along with us trying to scare you, you didn’t get angry when we accidentally messed up the garden (but you always knew when, even if we tried to hide it), and you always made sure our favourite snacks were stocked up. We sang our hearts out to Abrar-Ul Haq, screaming ‘heeeeeelay’ as loud as we could, and would erupt in laughter when you would turn the volume down at that exact moment. As we grew older the adventures didn’t stop! Alaska, Southeast Asia, West Coast Canada, local exploring, and simply spending time at the apartment.
There is so much I could say, but there aren’t enough words in the dictionary to describe the impact you made and the aching void I feel. You were not only the best grandfather, but the best everything.
You were my once in the life time person Dada Abu.
I hope to make you proud. I will do my best to honour your name and live up to your legacy.
Until we meet again ♥️
Forever your Best Daughter.

Jamil Ahmad blessed this world with his kindness, radiating love and compassion. His thoughtful nature and unquestionable faith made him be a huge support for my grandmother and like a father to my father, aunt and uncle and— he was the embodiment of familial warmth. Back in 2012, as a new immigrant in Canada, he welcomed me like his own grandson. I can say that was the best Eid I ever had in Canada. I will forever treasure that remarkable Eid with him, he gave me Eid money just like he did to rest of his grandchildren, he made sure I feel part of the family. May his soul find tranquility in eternal paradise. Rest in peace, dear Jamil Ahmad.

We met Mamaji for the first time at my sister Raazia’s home in Windsor. You could tell that his soul was pure. He was kind, respectful, humble, intelligent and had a good heart that was always giving. We are so blessed to have met him. He’s left a huge void for the family and the entire community. Please remember the fond memories he has left with you and remember he will always be with you.

As we reflect and remember the life of our dear and beloved Uncle Jamil Saeed, we can say with certainty that he was not just an uncle, but a father to all of us. He was always there when we needed him for advice or prayers or just to bless a wedding with his presence.
We have so many precious memories of him to last a lifetime. He had an illuminating personality that would liven up the room. He had an aura about him that radiated love for all. His poems and jokes were funny, and had life lessons. The young and the old gravitated towards him.
Uncle Jamil fulfilled his obligations to Allah, his family, friends and anyone who crossed his path. He set an example of sincerity, loyalty, love and respect for all. He was very kind, caring and always helpful. He was a man of deep faith and love for Islam and Ahmadiyyat.
He truly lived his life by the teachings of the Holy Quran and he had unwavering faith in Allah and he exemplified his devotion in everything he did.
We pray by reciting these verses of the Holy Quran (Chapter 89: verses 28-31):
“And thou, O soul at peace!
Return to thy Lord well pleased with Him and He well pleased with thee.
So enter thou among My chosen servants,
And enter thou My Garden.
We take solace in knowing that uncle has returned to his Lord, his journey on this earth complete. We pray that uncle finds eternal peace and happiness in the embrace of Allah and that he is welcomed into Jannatul Firdous, as promised in these verses (Ameen)

Nanajaan was truly one of a kind. The values, kindness, compassion and love that he possessed simply does not exist in today's world. It was always a highlight to go to Nanajaan's house and hear his words of wisdom. I will never forget him and Nanijaan telling me the story of how they first came to Canada. I think about the hardships they must have had to endure all those years ago in a strange new land, everything he achieved including raising beautiful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and becoming a leader in the community. He will really be missed. The ring that Nanajaan and Nanijaan gifted me will be my prized possession forever and I feel so lucky and blessed to wear it. Rest in peace Nanajaan.

Our MAMOOJAN JAMIL A Saeed was an incredible human being. He was a father figure to us all. We are so blessed to be a part of his life. His unconditional love for everyone, any age or race, His acceptance of others regardless of who they were, was a legacy we will remember forever. His love for his siblings and their families is something rare in this day and age. Mamoojaan was all about unity, family, hospitality and how he could make others feel special. Visiting his house was so much fun with yummy treats foods n gifts to go !we learned how to drive properly on highway during long trips. Our first trip to marine land, Niagara Falls and china town Toronto was one of the many trips we took with our Mamoojaan.
Yearly camping gatherings. Karaoke, picnics, and arranging people’s special celebrations was his way of showing how much he loved the family.
He encouraged us and our children and taught us how important it is to keep the family together.
During jalsa, spoiling us with sending kulfis to letting our children take authority for running audio video errands was his way to connect with all!!’
Words are actually not enough to describe how much you are loved n adored by us all. He was a father figure and our Rock.
May Allah grant him the most highest status in the heaves above .Ameen.
Love
Raazia Rajput.
