From Zaheer in face book post
Today (11-22-2017) we lost our dear, devoted, and caring mother, Amatul Hamid Ahmad, wife of late Missionary-Incharge Nigeria, sierra Leone, and Zambia, Sheikh Nasser Uddin Ahmad.. Inna Lillahe wa inna alaihe raajioon (To God do we belong and to Him will we return).... She was a very good mother and a strong woman, who raised FIVE strong and intelligent honorable women, and THREE strong and brave men....After her mother passed away when she was only a few years old, she lived on farms with her grandmother. There she had to grow into a strong and a self-made woman. For high school education she moved back to Patiala with her father Babu Abdul Hamid, a devoted and humble officer in Indian Postal. Here she mentored her younger stepbrother and grew into further maturity and acquired life skills and responsibilities. She lived through the turmoil of Indian partition in 1947 and witnessed many pains and sufferings. She got married at young age, to a very loving and selfless husband, who loved her very dearly. A pure, honest, and powerful man, who was genius with 12 master level degrees and a PhD. He could read, write, and deliver a powerful speech in seven world languages, in their native slangs. My parents used to put new soul in the "" Mehfils"" (family gatherings) good jokes and good old songs. My loving mother had 9 children, most of them born in Lagos, Nigeria and Freetown Sierra Leone, without any help from fancy hospitals and close loved ones. One of our brother passed away at an early age of 2 and half year, due to complications of stomach virus. She raised them healthy, intelligent , creative and pious, and gave us the best of the both parents. She worked hard throughout all of her life, she drove my old muscle car and I took her out to do some drifting in the snow storm. She drove her own car to work, mosque, and everywhere else, and provided ride to those who needed it, up till the age of 70. She stayed strong after the demise of my father, but she came to tears, every time we sang their duet song, which my mother and father used to sing together (milte hi aankhain dil huwa diwana kisi ka https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hydXXj2UV5o) . My dear mother, you are now in peace along with your loving husband, and my greatest father ever, in the softest clouds of heavens. Salutes and Aadaabs, to my dear mother , I will always love you as your baby and I will choose to be your baby over all the honors and wealth of this world.I

I had the pleasure and honor to know her from my childhood; when Mohtram Mulana Sheikh Naseer ud Din was in Serving the Jama’at in foreign Jama’at Missions, me and my younger brother Abdul Razzaq Qureshi Sahib (Sdar Halifax Jama’at) use to go and stayed at her house overnight, as she was alone with small children. I found her very dedicated to her children; she was very regular in offering her daily prayers and recitation of Holy Qur’an and making sure the children are doing the same.
For last so many years since she moved to America I have visited her and children I see all the hard work she had put out in raising them has paid off, by the grace of Allah three of her daughter are Doctors and Dr. Amtul Rehman (Mani) and Dr. Tahira Khalid Sahiba are serving in Lajna Ima’Illah USA on National level for many years.
May Allah grant Maghfirat to the deceased and elevate her spiritual status in the heaven! Amin! May Allah also shower His mercy upon the grieved families and give them solace and fortitude and enable them to bear this loss with patience! Amin!
