Obituary of Farhat Ara Khanum

We are sad to announce the demise of Respected Farhat Ara Khanum Sahiba, wife of (late) Respected Basharat Raza Khan Sahib, of  Vaughan Jamā‘at – Halqa Vaughan North, who passed away on November 5, 2025 at the age of 79 years.

Respected Farhat Ara Khanum Sahiba was the granddaughter of Hazrat Dr. Haji Muhammad Mahmood Khan Sahib Sanuri (ra) and the great-granddaughter of Hazrat Rajab Ali Khan Sahib Sanuri (ra), both of whom were companions of the Promised Messiah (as).Respected Farhat Ara Khanum Sahiba was a sincere and devoted Ahmadi Muslim who was regular in offering of her daily prayers and daily recitation of the Holy Quran. She was known for her deep love for Khilafat and unwavering attachment to the Jamā‘at.  She found great comfort and daily source of guidance in watching MTA and listened to the Friday Sermons regularly. She was blessed to have taken Bai`at at the hands of four Khulafa. Her humility, piety and kindness left a lasting impact on all those who knew her. Her financial sacrifices were quiet and consistent, reflecting her sincere nature.

 

Respected Farhat Khanum Sahiba completed her Master’s degree in Political Science from Karachi University, where she gained national attention as the only female student who observed full veil on campus, a story featured in the news under the title “The Only Veiled Lady of Karachi University.” Before immigrating to Canada, she worked with dedication as a school teacher, nurturing and guiding children for nearly two decades.

 

May Allah grant Maghfirat to the deceased and elevate her spiritual status in the heaven! Amen!  May Allah also shower His mercy upon the grieved families and give them solace and fortitude and enable them to bear this loss with patience!  Amen!
