Please share a memory of Jamila to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

We are sad to announce the demise of Respected Jamila Akhtar Sahiba, wife of (late) Respected Shamshad Ahmed Khan Sahib, of Innisfil Jamā‘at, who passed away on September 19, 2025 at the age of 77 years.

Innā Lillāhi wa Innā Ilaihi Rāji‘ūn

... Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return. [2:157]

Respected Jamila Akhtar Sahiba was a woman of remarkable grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. Gentle in nature, warm in her presence, and loving in her words, she was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. Her kind and approachable heart made everyone feel valued and welcomed.

Above all, she was a devoted servant of Khilāfat. With steadfast loyalty and humility, she remained obedient to the instructions of Syedna Hazrat Khalīfatul-Masīḥ (aba). She served with sincerity in numerous responsibilities, including Secretary Māl, Secretary Ishā‘at, Khidmat-e-Halqa, and as Ṣadr Halqa in North Karachi, Pakistān. She carried out her duties with patience, dedication, and an unshakable spirit (ḥosla) that inspired all around her.

Her life was defined by Ṣalāt, faith, and service. She was consistent in her worship and in her financial sacrifices, and her generosity knew no bounds, she gave wholeheartedly without seeking anything in return. Even in her final days, she remained steadfast in her devotion to Allāh Ta‘ālā.

She is survived by four sons, one daughter, two sisters, thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. To her family, especially her grandchildren, she was not merely a grandmother but truly the heart of the home. Through her prayers, wisdom, and boundless love, she nurtured and guided them. Her affection bound the family together, and her legacy will continue to live in their lives.

Her life was an enduring example of strength, patience, and unshakable faith. She will be remembered not only for the roles she fulfilled, but for the love she gave so freely and the prayers she offered so consistently.

May Allāh the Almighty elevate her status, grant her a lofty station in Jannat, forgive her shortcomings, and enable her family to honor her legacy with the same spirit of love, service, and devotion that she embodied. Āmīn.
