Please share a memory of Mubasshar Ahmad to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

We are sad to announce the demise of Respected Mubasshar Ahmad Tahir (Sharjah) Sahib of Toronto West Jamā‘at – Halqa Rexdale South, who passed away on June 9, 2025 at the age of 68 years.

... Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return. [2:157]

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who leaves behind a legacy of devotion, humility, and unwavering service. He is survived by his five loving children as well as seven grandchildren and six siblings. His final moments were spent surrounded by close family, in peace and prayer.

Mubasshar Sahib was the son of the late Hakeem Rehmat Ali Sahib and a pioneer member of the Sharjah Jama’at in the UAE, where he served faithfully since 1976. A proud veteran of the UAE Army (1979–1987), he brought the same discipline, loyalty, and love for his faith when he migrated to Canada, where he continued to serve for over 35 years.

He was a dedicated Mūṣī, a committed Ahmadi Muslim, and a servant of Khilafat. In 1988, he was appointed Qaid Khuddamul Ahmadiyya North York, where he led with energy and inspiration. He was also among the original members of the construction team for Baitul Islam Mosque beginning in 1989, and contributed immensely to Tabligh efforts across the country.

Mubasshar Sahib touched countless hearts through his preaching, hospitality, and deep friendships. His influence extended beyond borders, reaching respected personalities and dignitaries during his time in the UAE.

He remained a lifelong seeker of knowledge and a man of remarkable humility. He was steadfast in his five daily prayers, regular in reciting the Holy Qur’an, and deeply connected to Allah and Khilafat. He not only led by example, but also encouraged his children and others to stay attached to faith, worship, and service.

He will be remembered for his warm personality, spiritual wisdom, and tireless efforts in service to the community.

May Allah grant Maghfirat to the deceased and elevate his spiritual status in the heaven! Amen!  May Allah also shower His mercy upon the grieved families and give them solace and fortitude and enable them to bear this loss with patience! Amen!
