Obituary of Muhammad Khalil
We are sad to announce the demise of Respected
(إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ)
... Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return. [2:157]
He immigrated to Canada in 1988 and was among the pioneering members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Canada. Arriving well before the construction of Baitul Islam Mosque, he played a vital role in laying the foundational roots of the Jama’at in this country.
From the moment he arrived, Khalil Sahib remained consistently active in the service of the Jama’at. By the grace of Allah, he was blessed with the opportunity to serve in numerous capacities over the years, including Secretary Tarbiyyat, Secretary Ishaat, Secretary Waqf-e-Jadid, Muhaasil, Muntazim Tarbiyyat, Muntazim Waqf-e-Jadid, and as a support volunteer at the Jama’at Homeopathic Clinic from its inception.
In the early years of the Jama’at's growth in Canada, he also managed the community Book Store and was affectionately known as "Book Store walay Khalil Sahib".
A compassionate soul, he quietly helped countless newcomers to Canada—supporting them as they settled into their new lives, offering guidance and care with humility and grace.
Khalil Sahib was known for his ever-present, radiant smile and his warm, welcoming nature. He greeted everyone—whether stranger or friend—with kindness, sincerity, and comforting words.
He embodied selflessness and humility, never once complaining and always prioritizing the needs of others over his own. Regardless of his personal commitments or circumstances, he was always ready to help—be it for the Jama’at, family, friends, or even complete strangers.
