Obituary of Hajra Begum

We are sad to announce the demise of Respected Hajra Begum Sahiba, wife of (late) Respected Sheikh Muhammad Aslam Sahib, of  Vaughan Jamā‘at – Halqa Maple, who passed away on May 11, 2025 at the age of 90 years.

By the grace of Allah, Respected Hajra Begum Sahiba was a Mūṣiya, truly fulfilling all the responsibilities associated with this blessed commitment. She was the daughter of Hadrat Khawaja Muhammad Shareef Sahib (ra), a companion of the Promised Messiah (as). She led a very pious life, always giving precedence to faith over worldly matters. She served as Regional Ṣadr Zila Kasur for a long time working closely under the kind guidance of Hadrat Choti Aapa Syeda Maryam Siddiqa Sahiba (rh). She was very fond of reading and had memorized long passages from the Holy Quran, poems and quotations from the writings of the Promised Messiah (as) which she would recite regularly throughout the day. She had a very pleasant and warm personality, treating all her relatives and people in her circle including neighbors with utmost respect and kindness. She was very generous and always found satisfaction in quietly fulfilling the needs of the poor in a way that preserved their dignity.

Her husband, (late) Respected Sheikh Muhammad Aslam Sahib was among the Aseeran Rahe Maula, and her son, Respected Sheikh Muhammad Yousuf Sahib, is currently facing a 298-C case (impersonating a Muslim) in Kasur, for offering Friday prayer in the mosque.

 

May Allah grant Maghfirat to the deceased and elevate her spiritual status in the heaven! Amen!  May Allah also shower His mercy upon the grieved families and give them solace and fortitude and enable them to bear this loss with patience! Amen!
